My Mom came down on May 5th so Kevin and I could celebrate our anniversary. A little early I know but we wanted to beat the summer crowds at Disneyland and California Adventure. That's right. We had the most awesome anniversary trip ever!
Star Tours
C3PO Ready for a battle with Vader
This ride is really cool. They spotlight someone from the group and say he is a spy and it was the guy right next to me!! I loved it.
Space Mountain
Absolutely no lines on Monday morning. And we were an hour late getting to the park!
Celebrity Spotting!
We totally saw Mrs. Doubtfire while we were waiting for Nemo.
Finding Nemo Submarine
Coolest tattoo ever. (Spotted while waiting for Splash Mountain).
I hope you all recognize that ... but if you are having a hard time, go see how many licks it takes to get to the chocolate at the center of a tootsie roll pop.
We headed over to California Adventure in the evening and went on the Tower of Terror. This is Kevin's favorite ride. He made me a believer. But there was this little girl and her mom waiting with us and we got on the ride together. The little girl was really scared and was holding on to Kevin the whole ride. We were all concerned for her (as you can see below).
On Tuesday the lines were even better. We spent most of the day at California Adventure. I think we rode California Screamin' ten times and Tower of Terror almost as much. I was running from ride to ride not even stopping for bathroom breaks. It was so FUN!
Tower of Terror
Those are our Captain Eo shirts (the shirt Michael Jackson wears in the Captain Eo movie .. they brought the movie back after the King of Pop died. See it if you can .. it's retro awesome!) People loved these shirts. Also throughout the two days at the park, Kevin seemed to know where every ride camera would be and proceeded to make some sort of face. Eventually I got into it.
California Screamin'
Toy Story Mania
This ride was a super long wait every time. We did it twice though. It's super fun.
See .. we're still in love.
Tuesday evening we had made reservations to eat at the Blue Bayou. It's the restaurant you ride by at the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean. It was delicious! Everyone's favorite dish was the salmon. I got the Jambalya. It was good. BUT please whatever you do, order the salmon!
Club 33
We had such a great time! I loved spending a few days with my sweetheart!
On Wednesday we went to the LA Temple. It is such a beautiful temple and the inside is awesome!!
The Temple just sits on the cute little hill right in the middle of traffic
and craziness. So peaceful when you are up on the hill though.
Then we visited my sweet cousin Afton and her family. I didn't get any pictures while we were there, but of course Violet was the cutest and Afton whipped up an awesome dinner for us, which was so thoughtful. We were dying for a home cooked meal.
We had a great time but we missed the kids and I think they missed us.
